How does ODINI compare to Motobridge? |

|
Motobridge is a Motorola solution for interconnecting radio networks through an IP interconnection. The solution fulfills the requirements for the "Tactical patch" scenario.
Motobridge is a proprietary solution, whereby interfaces for interconnection to non-Motorola networks have to be purchased from Motorola. Some of the functionalities, such as talking party ID, are only available when Motorola networks are interconnected. Support for individual calls and short data message transfer is not included in Motobridge, and also the "expand coverage" and "migration to other network" scenarios are not considered. ODINI also offers a wider scope for creating a middlelayer protocol for applications and operation through Mobile IP networks.
On the other hand, the availability of Motobridge confirms that there is a need in the market for such solutions!
