The On-Demand Intelligent Network Interface (ODINI) is a solution to interconnect mobile and fixed networks for mission-critical communications. Amongst other functionalities, ODINI supports PTT-operated group calls, which is the prime mode of operation for these user groups. TETRA is the standard of choice for the definition of ODINI, although any type of PMR network can be made interoperable through ODINI.
ODINI operates on a modern IP-based network architecture, which allows for integration of legacy, current and future radio networks, telephony and data-centric applications to support interconnection of voice and data calls.
Rohill is the main sponsor of the ODINI initiative. Together with other industrial partners, system integrators, universities and end-users, the ODINI standard will be further developed, resulting in an ecosystem of ODINI compliant products for users of mission-critical networks. |
